Tarangire is just behind the Serengeti in terms of wildlife viewing. It is an area of large breeding herds of elephants and buffalo. Giant baobabs provide shade for sleeping lions and night drives give the opportunity to see elusive leopards on the prowl. The Tarangire offers a fantastic launch pad to start a safari in the famous north of Tanzania. Less known than the neighboring Serengeti, this park is home to an incredible amount of wildlife. Buffalo herds move by the hundreds between the Sllale Swamp and the Tarangire River.
