Mustang is slumbering behind the walls of the Himalayas, north of the Annapurna massif in Nepal, a special kingdom that has created a world of its own here. The country is determined by the Khali Gandaki River and is a piece of earth where God still has a thousand addresses: incredible sunrises and gleaming white mountains that appear closer than ever and are given a unique lightness by the snow.
Pack your backpacks, because Mustang invites you on an unforgettable trekking trip!
Full of liveliness, scents, Buddhist statues and ringing rickshaws - the capital of Nepal, Kathmandu, is a real fascination and introduces you to your unforgettable trekking trip through the Kingdom of Mustang.
Before you lace up your trekking shoes, you first get through Pokhara to Jomsom. Marvel at the snow-covered mountain peaks, the narrow valleys and the grazing flocks of sheep from your fan gun - a picturesque picture that is guaranteed to add a bit of anticipation. Via Kagbeni - the official gateway to the forbidden Mustang - you trek to the romantic village of Chele at an altitude of 3,050 meters. A number of fascinating Buddhist chortens that are typical of Mustang appear here for the first time. Prayer flags waving freely in the wind, colorful monasteries and paths carved in the vertical rock determine your way to Gehling and on to Charang.
Little by little you notice how the landscape becomes rougher and more angular, the Annapurna Mountains take up a clear part of the horizon and the cool air in the morning makes the tip of your nose slightly red - your goal, Lo Manthang, is getting closer and closer. On the way, experience one of the oldest monasteries in Nepal, the Ghar Gompa, let yourself be fascinated by the locals and their culture and enjoy the seclusion and the fact that the clocks slow down a bit here.
Embraced by mountains and under the protective shield of the king rests Lo Manthang, capital of Mustangs and a very special place that projects you into another world. Feel this very special aura yourself and make your way back. Another route takes you back through the unique Mustang landscape to your starting point, Jomsom. Your trek ends here and you drive back to Kathmandu via Pokhara. Give your feet a break and slowly adjust to the vibrancy of city life before you start your journey home.
The suitcases are packed, the memories and experiences well stored and you make your way wistfully towards the airport, from where you fly back inspired, fulfilled and full of new energy.
