The hotel was built in 2005 and the rooms were specially designed so that every guest is able to observe the fascinating starry sky directly from the bed. This is particularly beautiful in the Elqui Valley, because it is one of the few places in the world where the sky is so clear that you can see up to the eighth star class with the naked eye and observe the center of a galaxy.
For this purpose, the architecture of the accommodations was modeled on the huts of the indigenous people, which gives the domes, which are spacious and comfortably furnished, a special and rustic charm.
The stylish "Astro-Hotel" has two room categories: Domos, these are luxurious round tents with a roof that can be opened over the bed and 3-story observation houses with a living room, a bedroom and a cozy roof terrace.
